I was super excited when I first completed this rendering of the iconic shield of Captain America. I was testing the waters between combining both Illustrator and Photoshop to pull off a photo-realistic rendering of what the shield could look like.

I started in Illustrator and mapped out how I wanted each shape to interact. I then transferred each section into Photoshop, layered them accordingly, and began to apply bevel effects, lighting and texturing to the vector artwork. The background image, overlaid color and J. J. Abrams style lens flare was added within Photoshop as a finishing touch.
